Compassionate care for kids
Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands is a freestanding hospital that combines compassionate medical care with comfortable family-centered spaces, age-appropriate play areas and therapeutic diversions to help reduce stress and encourage healing. Prisma Health Children’s Hospital has been a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital since 1985.
Today, Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands offers more than 30 medical subspecialties to meet the unique health care needs of children. Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands is South Carolina’s first children’s hospital and has more than 150,000 children’s visits each year.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has grown dramatically since its founding in 1983, but its goals have remained the same:
- Save and improve the lives of as many children as possible by raising funds for children’s hospitals.
- Keep funds in the community in which they were raised, to help local kids.
Today more than 170 hospitals worldwide, specializing in treating children, make up Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. A member since 1985, Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands partners with national and local retailers and organizations in year round fundraising campaigns. All funds raised in our market, stay here to benefit our kids. Through the sale of paper miracle balloons, special events and employee contributions, CMN Hospitals provides Children’s Hospital with unique and rewarding fund raising opportunities, most of it $1 at a time.
Unique programs like University of South Carolina Dance Marathon and Extra Life provide Children’s Hospital with new opportunities to share the Children’s Hospital story. Area businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the fundraising efforts by hosting your own event or selling miracle balloons.

Share your story: join the Miracle Family Program
A Miracle Family is a family that has benefited from the services at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands and is willing to speak about their experience at a variety of different children’s hospital events. Miracle Families share their firsthand experience to help create awareness and help raise funds by inspiring the community to donate. By sharing your story, you are teaching your child the importance of supporting their community and giving back.
You will have the opportunity to participate in activities as you like. Visit a partner such as Walmart, Publix, or Kroger and share your story with associates at the location at a meeting or say thanks while shopping. Walk through the registers and say thank you to cashiers. Write a thank you note to a donor or upload a video from your cell phone for us to share with employees. From speaking engagements and more, you choose your level of involvement. Some of the activities offered throughout the year include USC Dance Marathon, campaign kick-off meetings at retail locations, inclusion in publications and printed in-store campaign materials.
If you’ve had a recent experience and are willing to share your story through media events, social media, web and printed materials, then please complete this form and return to Lynn Hazel.
